Weekly Terrain Conditions
Early-week conditions feature dry, firm soils thanks to the sunny skies and last weekend’s lack of moisture. No mud or soft ground to worry about – the terrain can easily support heavy equipment and routine landscaping tasks. With each warm, rain-free day, surface soils will dry out further; by midweek they may become quite parched. The upside is that stable footing is guaranteed through the week, but the downside is grass and garden beds will need regular watering since nature isn’t providing any help. By Sunday’s cool-down, the ground remains solid (with only slightly reduced evaporation in the cooler air). Keep a close eye on soil moisture and run irrigation as needed to maintain plant health.
Temperatures climb steadily from the mid-70s on Monday to a summer-like peak in the low 80s by Thursday. After that, a cool-down sets in: highs slide back into the 70s by Saturday, then drop sharply to the upper 50s on Sunday. Nighttime lows follow a similar pattern – starting in the upper 40s early week, rising to the low 50s late week, then dipping to the upper 30s by week’s end. It’s a significant swing from warm to cool in just a few days, so be prepared for the dramatic change at the end of the week.
For a change of pace in June, this week offers virtually no rain. Monday through Saturday are expected to stay completely dry, with essentially zero chance of measurable precipitation – quite a long rain-free stretch for Jackson Hole. Even on Sunday, the cooler weather arrives without any significant rainfall (just an increase in clouds). In short, expect a dry week from start to finish. This means no weather-related delays for outdoor projects, but also no natural watering for your landscape, so plan irrigation accordingly.
Cloud Cover and Wind Trends
Cloud cover remains low through most of the week. A few clouds on Monday and Tuesday give way to mostly clear skies by Wednesday and Thursday. By Friday and Saturday, expect a bit more cloudiness overhead (partly cloudy conditions), and Sunday turns mostly cloudy with the incoming cool air.
Winds stay consistently gentle alongside these sky conditions. Most of the week, breezes hover around 5–8 mph. It becomes a bit breezier on Friday and Saturday afternoons, when gusts may reach into the 12–15 mph range, but overall wind won’t be a disruptive factor – conditions remain calm enough for all outdoor tasks.
