A Flush Hot Tub,
Hidden in Plain Sight

A forgotten dog run becomes the quiet centerpiece of a Jackson Hole backyard.

A wooden deck that sits flush with the earth, and a hot tub that sits flush with the deck. No cedar skirting. No vinyl cabinet. Just warm wood, and water.

The back corner of this Jackson Hole home had been a chain-link dog run and a separating fence — a piece of property that never quite belonged to anyone. Lazar and the Terrain crew took the space back, and built a flush patio around it.

Before Narrow yard, chain-link dog run, separating fence. Technically outdoor space — functionally a dead zone.

Layout Strings, stakes, and a sharp pencil. Every structural decision gets made right here.

Excavation & Footings Below frost line for every pier. Sonotubes, rebar, concrete. The invisible half of the project.

Framing The tub well framed as its own box inside the larger deck — close enough to look seamless, separate enough to service.
Deck framing substantially complete, with the tub well cut into the platform
Installation Eight hundred pounds of tub, walked into position by hand. One-shot operation.

Decking Hardwood running the long direction of the patio, mitered tight at the tub perimeter.

The Result The corner of the yard that gets used now. Morning coffee. Après-ski. Late September light.

"A flush install looks simple, but most of the work is underground — the footings, the drainage, the framing around the tub. Get those right and everything on top of it is easy." Vergiliu Lazar, General Manager, Terrain
